For many businesses, the key to the owner’s reaching his or her personal goals is to grow a business that has intrinsic value – value not totally reliant on the active involvement of the owner in the business.  In order to accomplish this, or even approach it, that owner needs to develop one or more key employees filling the role of “second in command”.
